It opened six months ago by husband and wife team, Nakur Patel and Marisa Paolillo. Paolillo is the chef at the restaurant. She lived in Bombay for nine years and worked at an American restaurant while she was there. When they moved back to Chicago, they wanted to incorporate their experiences from India into their restaurant concept here.

Fab Recipe: Thai Grilled Shrimp Salad 4 Ways

October 21, 2016 by Contributing Writer

Fab Recipe: Thai Grilled Shrimp Salad 4 Ways // Photo: @natty_s_pantryToday I will be sharing one my favorite recipes from my childhood, which I learned from my mom. The Thai Grilled Shrimp Salad with Thai herbs or Pla-Goong (พล่ากุ้ง) has a nice kick of spice and citrus. This recipe is packed with flavors and has a nice refreshing finish as well as a citrusy note from the lime… a recipe that is similar to ceviche. The secret to making this recipe is the one-of-a-kind homemade Thai Chili Jam (Nam Prik Pao), lemongrass, fresh lime juice, culantro flavor, and grilled shrimp with the shell. Leaving the shell keeps all those delicious juices in guaranteeing a much tastier and tender meat….

Fab Review: Angry Crab

December 1, 2015 by Contributing Writer

Seafood at The Angry Crab // Photo : @vansventures

Happy December! Time to remember and reflect all the great memories we had this year! Angry Crab brings me fond memories. My first experience with crawfish was filled with blunders. I didn’t know how to eat the little sea creatures and was embarrassed because it seemed like everyone else knew what they were doing. Good thing someone spoke up because we all realized that no one actually knew what they were doing. This was especially true since Chicago didn’t have too many crawfish joints at the time. Here is my review of Angry Crab and a step-by-step guide on how to eat crawfish……
