Fab Review: Mott St

January 22, 2016 by Soo Park

Mott St // Photo: @fabsooparkMott St, the sister restaurant of Ruxbin, is a hip and edgy, Asian-influenced restaurant inspired by street food and night markets in Asia. Chef Edward Kim’s mashup of various cuisines including Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Mexican, and Italian are both brilliant and bold. …

Fab Review: CRĪO

December 29, 2015 by Contributing Writer

The word ‘Gastropub’ is defined as “a pub that specializes in serving high-quality food.” Well, if there is one place that truly embodies every aspect of that definition, it would be CRĪO. CRĪO is one of my favorite brunch and dinner gastropubs, and even better? It’s located right in the Lincoln Park neighborhood. …

When my grandma was alive, it was one of the few things she would request from me. She ate a very healthy diet but would indulge on my homemade empanadas, once in awhile. They were time-consuming to make but it was worth it at the end. There is something magical about biting into the crisp flaky dough and the flavorful filling. Nevertheless, I always think of my grandma when I eat empanadas….

Fab Review: Allende Restaurant

October 16, 2015 by Contributing Writer

Photo: @chelsias at Allendes

Allende is one of those hole-in-the-wall places that you might pass over at first glance. I highly recommend you don’t or you’ll miss out on a treasure trove of authentic Mexican food. Although the interior design of the restaurant leaves much to be desired, Allende gives you great Mexican food for a price that won’t hurt your wallet….
