Fab Review: Raisu

August 20, 2018 by Contributing Writer

Fab Review: Raisu // Whole Red Snapper // Photo: Raisu Japanese Fine DiningRaisu opened in August 2017 in an unassuming location on Irving Park Road. Fab Happenings: Chicago Restaurant Week 2018

February 8, 2018 by Contributing Writer

Maki & Nigiri at Naoki // Photo: @topchicagoeats
It’s one of my favorite times of the year…  Choose Chicago‘s Chicago Restaurant Week. Over 370 restaurants participated this year with special prix fixe menus for brunch ($22), lunch ($33), or dinner ($44). Normally it runs for two weeks (this year: January 26-February 8) but they just announced they will be extending a few more days (until February 11 at select restaurants) to align with Chicago Theatre Week. Don’t miss your chance!

Fab Review: Blufish Vernon Hills

February 23, 2016 by Soo Park

Fab Review: Blufish Vernon Hills // Photo: @roneng1Blufish, in Vernon Hills, is the third restaurant in the Blufish family. Owned and run by two brothers, Chuck and Matt Choi, this location was chosen based on the client base from their sister restaurants in Glenview and Park Ridge. They found customers in the Vernon Hills area were traveling far to dine at their establishment so they decided to open one in the neighborhood. They opened on December 1st, a date with special meaning to Chuck, his son’s birthday.  …

Fab Review: Jellyfish Chicago

January 5, 2016 by Contributing Writer

Jellyfish// Photo: @fabsooparkWith the constant opening and closing of restaurants in the Gold Coast, it is hard to keep track of which ones are still there. Jellyfish is a restaurant that was established in 2012 and has been a little gem in the neighborhood ever since.

Fab Happenings: Top 5 Sushi Spots in Chicago

December 28, 2015 by Soo Park

Kai Zan // Photo: @fabsooparkSushi is my favorite food to eat. I find myself craving it all the time, and I would eat it everyday if I could. Although the sushi scene in Chicago is not as vast as the coasts, there is a decent amount of Japanese restaurants that do it right….
