Spam Musubi at Aloha Eats // Photo: @fabsooparkLincoln Park has a thriving and diverse food scene. There are always new eateries and restaurants to discover. With a huge student base all year round, Lincoln Park excels in fun and exciting cheap eats that keeps your food game strong without killing your wallet….

Fab Review: Allende Restaurant

October 16, 2015 by Contributing Writer

Photo: @chelsias at Allendes

Allende is one of those hole-in-the-wall places that you might pass over at first glance. I highly recommend you don’t or you’ll miss out on a treasure trove of authentic Mexican food. Although the interior design of the restaurant leaves much to be desired, Allende gives you great Mexican food for a price that won’t hurt your wallet….

Fab Chef: My Journey as a Pastry Chef

October 3, 2015 by Contributing Writer

Photo: @chelsias at Sweet Mandy B's

I was that weird kid in high school who would beg her parents for money to take cooking classes or buy cookbooks instead of shopping for clothes and CDs (yes, I’m a child of the 90’s).  Now I choose to spend my time and money on all things related to food, whether it is adventures in Chicago or halfway across the globe in Southeast Asia, where I am originally from. My journey has been slow and extremely hard, but it’s been fun. It’s made me the person that I am today.

Fab Happenings: Top 5 Bubble Tea in Chicago

October 1, 2015 by Contributing Writer

Photo: @chelsias at Joy Yee's

A classic childhood favorite for many, bubble tea or “boba” is on the rise in the Chicago food scene. I have been known to frequent the various boba spots below and thus earned the title #BobaQueen. YASSSSS! While people might need a drink after work, I often go for a cup of boba instead. The concept of drinking and eating might sound weird to many, however, it is definitely something that one should try.
