It seems like it was only yesterday when it was 80 degrees outside and now it’s quickly turned into sweater weather. The holidays are fast approaching, which means it’s time for lots of festive, fall-themed treats.

I’ve searched high and low to bring you the “Top 5 Fall-Themed Treats”…

5. Pumpkin Cupcake at Sugar Bliss Patisserie

Sugar Bliss Patisserie, located at the Palmer House Hotel, specializes in European-inspired pastries. They offer a wide variety of sweet treats including macarons, cake pops, cupcakes, and more.

I got the Pumpkin Cupcake, which had a pumpkin cake base, cream cheese frosting, and then topped with pumpkin candy. The cupcake itself was moist and had a delicious pumpkin flavor. There was a lot of frosting but who doesn’t love frosting?

4. Seasonal Treat at George’s Ice Cream & Sweets

George’s Ice Cream & Sweets is known for their all-natural ice cream, which is sourced from Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream. They offer a large selection of classic and unique ice cream flavors as well as baked goods, hot & cold drinks, sundaes, and more. You can even find a wide assortment of old fashioned candy.

I got one of their seasonal treats that can be found next to the hand-dipped chocolates and candies. It combined a bunch of my favorite things to eat so I HAD to get it. Also, how could you pass up this cute face? This treat made me nostalgic of all the different cookies and candies I used to eat as a child. It was made with a Nutter Butter cookie, candy corn, Fruit Loops, Rolo, chocolate chips, pretzels, and a cookie dipped in chocolate.

3. Apple Cider Donut at Stan’s Donuts & Coffee

Stan’s Donuts & Coffee specializes in small batch donuts that are made fresh daily. You can choose from traditional flavors like an old-fashioned or one of their creative specialty donuts.

Really good apple cider donuts can be hard to find unless you go to an actual apple orchard but this was one of the best apple cider donuts I have ever had. It’s a cake donut coated with cinnamon sugar and with every bite, you got a delightful apple flavor. It had just the right balance of sweetness. It’s a classic favorite you don’t want to miss!

2. Pumpkin Latte Cake Jar at Jar Bar – CLOSED

Jar Bar is a casual spot to grab fresh, healthy food including acaí bowls, overnight oats, poké, and salads, with a unique twist. They serve most of their offerings in jars. The menu is gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegetarian friendly.
In addition to healthy eats, you can find an assortment of creative cake jars. It comes in a variety of flavors and color combinations, all made with high-quality ingredients. Their current seasonal cake jar is Pumpkin Latte. While this cake jar may look simple, it was bursting with flavor. Layers of pumpkin cake were paired with layers of frosting and then topped with sprinkles shaped like fall leaves.

1. Twisted Cookie

If you ever find yourself in the suburbs, don’t miss out on Twisted Cookie. They offer a large variety of traditional and unique cookies, milkshakes, cookie pies, and cookie cupcakes. I mean, who doesn’t want a cookie pie or cookie cupcake?

I’ve never been a big fan of pumpkin pie, but the pumpkin pie cookie was a game changer. It was a soft, doughy cookie with a flaky texture and the pumpkin filling wasn’t overly sweet. It was topped with whipped cream, dusted with cinnamon, and served warm.

Honorable Mention: Bodega

Bodega is a quick, counter-service spot located next door to its sister restaurant Barrio. Bodega serves all of the important things in life; coffee, churros, and tacos. Their churros are unique and inventive, so you should definitely check it out!

While my drink is technically not a “treat”, the pumpkin design on this cappuccino is worth mentioning.
